Post Camino

Leaving Finesterre & then Santiago to return to Rhede, Germany involved buses, planes, and cars. It felt rather strange to travel in ways other than my own two feet. But just as the Camino went so brilliantly, so did the return home. And it felt good to be home. Family, friends, and all familiar scenery were a comfort after such a long time on the road.

I've read other Camino walkers' comments as they've returned home, and found themselves wishing to pack their backpacks and get back out on the Way. I have not yet had the urge to carry my pack, but walking is as necessary to my being as air and ice cream. So each day I walk. I am lucky to be in this beautiful country, the scenery is as magnificent as any on the Camino.

Taking in the sights of Köln, Münster and other favorite places, I had the great pleasure of playing tour guide for my friend, Melissa. Sharing my love of these places and moments with my family was very special.

And soon I'll venture on - Amsterdam, Stockholm, Helsinki, Budapest and more will offer me new adventures in the next few weeks. I'll keep you posted.
