Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes NP is Croatia's oldest and largest national park and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. It is a phenomenon of karst hydrography. The 16 blue and green lakes are linked together with cascades and waterfalls. During the millennia, water has eroded and dissolved the rocks in the river and stream beds. With the help of moss and algae, the dissolved calcium carbonates create tufa or travertine. The ongoing process creates barriers between the lakes, so that new falls are constantly being created. There are several caves and a virgin beech-fir forest as well.

This beautiful park is a must see! Enjoy!!

I'll be back here tomorrow!! 😄
